ECKHART was adopted by two regular blue-collar workers. When they found out he could communicate with animals, they were freaked to say the least. He was sent two states away to Vermont so that he could attend this gifted school. ECKHART keeps to himself and is very afraid of the DONOVANS and the Purist group. Fortunately, his best friends TEMPEST and LANCASTER protect him from bullies.

ELLIS 1 is currently dating ALISTAIR DMITRI DONOVAN, though he’s only using her as his pawn. She, however, doesn’t suspect anything because she’s completely head over heels for him. She would do anything he said. She and her sister, ELLIS 2, don’t get along well. In fact, they fight on a regular basis. She’s more powerful than her sister, and never lets ELLIS 2 forget it.

HIGHLAND has always been afraid of ALISTAIR DMITRI DONOVAN, and therefore didn't want to upset the guy when he was asked to join their group. He doesn't really believe what the other Purists believe, but he's too concerned with fitting in to question anything. However, when NOELLE JEAN MOREAU came to the Academy and criticized the Purists, HIGHLAND wanted to leave the group to please her. He has a huge crush on NOELLE JEAN MOREAU, but is too afraid of what might happen if he disobeyed ALISTAIR DMITRI DONOVAN.

NOELLE JEAN MOREAU spent most of her life robbing banks, casinos, gas stations, what have you with her mother, who doesn't have special powers. She never went to school, but kept herself educated with books from the library. When her mother got arrested, NOELLE JEAN MOREAU escaped and wound up at the gates of Donovan Academy. Her best friend here is HIGHLAND. She's spent her whole life in crime and evil, and she's sick of it. She just wants to be normal and not get caught up in this drama.

JULIAN CHRISTOPHER SAMPSON[/color]

After having gotten in a huge fight with his father two years ago which ended up killing his mother, the DONOVANS took him in as one of their own because he was so powerful. His grief and anger made him an easy target to be hypnotized. It wasn't until the end of last year that LYLA MICHELLE WYNTERS became his friend and snapped him out of his hypnotism. He joined the Equitas group not long after, which infuriated the DONOVANS. JULIAN CHRISTOPHER SAMPSON is still angry, but he puts forth his anger in a more positive way, never again wanting to use his powers for evil.

SHARPE is a proud member of the Purists. A gossip queen, she loves to eavesdrop on the Equitas group's plans. Her best friend is ELLIS 1. She is known for sleeping around, but she loves the attention. Whenever SHARPE wants quiet, she will listen to grunge music; it soothes her.

TEMPEST is known for having a little temper. If someone rubs him the wrong way or patronizes one of his friends, watch out - there's a storm coming...literally. He has a hard time controlling his temper, which often gets him a one-way ticket to detention. Fortunately, his girlfriend ELLIS 2 knows exactly how to calm him down. But one will know when TEMPEST is angry or happy - the weather says it all. He also has a tough time controlling his power, and it probably gives the local weatherman a hard time.

TORRSON is known as the bad boy, of which he's proud. He loves being in the Purist group and believes in every single thing the DONOVANS believe. And that's not because he's hypnotized. He really believes the power should be theirs. TORRSON thrives on power. He loves setting things on fire. In class, he's known to play with it through his fingers when he doesn't feel like doing schoolwork.

LYLA MICHELLE WYNTERS is sort of the ring leader of the Equitas group. She loves making people happy and calm. Fighting is not her favorite past time, but if it means overthrowing the DONOVANS and restoring peace, then it must be done. She believes everyone has a little good in them and wants to bring that out. Call her an optimist, but LYLA MICHELLE WYNTERS thinks that with her power, she might be able to. After all, she helped JULIAN CHRISTOPHER SAMPSON.

VLADIMIR IGOR DONOVAN inherited the school from his father who inherited it from his grandfather...and so on. The line of hypnotists runs deep in the family. He's used his powers to persuade certain Senators to do his bidding. Eventually, he wants one of these Senators to become President, and he would soon overthrow the government. He wants the world to know about these gifted humans, and he wants a war.

Not only does he want to follow in his father’s footsteps, he wants to become the most powerful hypnotist in the world. His job at the Academy is the disciplinarian. ALISTAIR DMITRI DONOVAN also watches over the Equitas group to make sure they aren’t plotting anything. He is currently dating ELLIS 1, though he’s really only using her as his pawn. ALISTAIR DMITRI DONOVAN enjoys hypnotizing people for fun. Unfortunately, most people have learned not to look into his eyes.

FONTAINE has been teaching here for 16 years. She attended Donovan Academy, went to college, and traveled the world before she started teaching. She can fly for three hours without resting. She believes in this school and doesn't want to see it go down in flames; thus, FONTAINE is on the good side. She wants to see her kids succeed and would help go to great lengths to protect them.

GRIZELDA can bend and stop time, which she uses to her advantage. Not only does it help her spot cheating students, she keeps a watchful eye on VLADIMIR IGOR DONOVAN. She doesn't trust him, and with good reason. She suspects his plans and isn't afraid to go public with what he's plotting so that he gets fired. For now, though, she must wait for the right time to act.

The LEFLERS have a long history of teachers and trainers at Donovan Academy. They're best friends with the DONOVANS. So, naturally, he goes along with the Purists, favoring those students in class over the others. He's aggressive and powerful. He's been dating RHINE for almost two years and is planning on marrying her.

MENDES has never been focused on which side to be on. He's worked enough in research labs and with the government to know that everything is corrupted. He focuses only on educating his students and doing side jobs for scientists and doctors. The DONOVANS leave him alone because they don't find him useful in their plot. MENDES is a cynical genius, searching for truth...and a girlfriend.

PIUS is ALISTAIR DMITRI DONOVAN's right-hand man. He's a sociopath and likes to harm people for fun. He also loves making his class incredibly difficult to do well. His idea of fun wasn't teaching at Donovan Academy, but the prospect of a war and possibly overthrowing the government makes his job slightly more enjoyable. He also enjoys sleeping around with willing teachers...and students.

RHINE had a tough life growing up. Going from foster home to foster home made her tough. She eventually got rich by breaking into safes and stealing money. Now she is a teacher at Donovan Academy, dating LEFLER, and life is good. She doesn't really care about VLADIMIR IGOR DONOVAN's plot, but goes along with it because her boyfriend does.
